Taos Vs Tiguan Vs Atlas Vs Cross Sport Which One Should You Get?

Volkswagen has always been known as the one automotive manufacturer that offers a versatile list of vehicles that can fit any driver's needs. This is especially true when you take a look at our SUV line. We offer a wide range of well-equipped SUVs that each offer their own set of unique features that are able to suit a wide range of needs. If you are having a hard time deciding which Volkswagen SUV would be best for you, keep reading to learn more about each one.

Taos

The Taos is the newest member in the Volkswagen family. It is also the most compact SUV in the lineup. However, that does not mean that it is lacking in any area. The exterior has a striking design that is highlighted by a sculpted body and bright LED headlights. To help the vehicle stand out even more, it can be equipped with the available illuminated grille and flashy 19-inch aluminum wheels.

The Taos may look compact on the outside, but the interior is spacious and inviting. The cabin can seat up to five people and offers up to 37.9 inches of legroom for the backseat passengers. There is also a spacious rear cargo area that offers up to 28 cubic feet of space, which is more than enough room to hold several bags of luggage and other cargo. In the front row, drivers can enjoy the available 8-way power-adjustable seat and heated steering wheel. There is also a wide range of other high-end features that are offered in this vehicle, including a dual-zone climate control system and interior ambient lighting.

Under the hood the Taos is a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine that is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission and delivers 258 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle comes standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available. AWD versions come equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission.

Tiguan

The Tiguan is slightly bigger than the Taos, but it is still compact enough to be agile. The interior is both versatile and luxurious. The cabin comes standard with seating for up to five, but you can get the available third-row seats to accommodate a total of 7 occupants. There are also a wide range of available luxurious features in the cabin, including faux leather upholstery and a tri-zone automatic climate control system.

The Tiguan also offers the latest technology. Sitting in the center of the dash is a large touchscreen infotainment display that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as a Wi-Fi hotspot. There is also a standard 8-inch digital cockpit, but the cockpit pro is available and features a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The Tiguan also offers a wide range of standard safety features such as forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking.

Atlas

The Atlas is a mid size SUV that comes with your choice of two powerful engines and a wide range of entertainment and convenience features.

The Atlas comes standard with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that delivers up to 235 horsepower. If you are looking for a little more power, the available V6 engine is able to deliver up to 276 horsepower. Both engines come standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission and can be had with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The interior offers three rows of spacious seating that offer enough legroom that tall adults will be able to sit in comfort, even in the back row. There is also a large cargo area in the back and both the second and third-row seats can be folded down if you need more interior cargo space. The Atlas comes standard with a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display that comes standard with a Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a six-speaker sound system. Drivers can opt for the larger available 8-inch touchscreen display that comes with the same features that the smaller infotainment display comes with, and also adds a wireless charging pad and SiriusXM radio to the mix.

Atlas Cross Sport

The Atlas Cross Sport shares a lot of similarities to the regular Atlas, but there are also a lot of differences. The exterior is outlined in dramatic curves that gives it a more athletic appearance than other mid-sized vehicles in its class.

Unlike the regular Atlas, the Atlas Cross Sport does not offer an available third-row seat. Instead, the interior uses that room for extra cargo space. There are also a wide range of available high-end features included in available ventilated front seats and a large panoramic sunroof.

Under the hood, drivers will find a standard turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 235 horsepower. A 276-horsepower V6 engine is available. All models offer your choice of either front-wheel or all-wheel-drive.
