This year, Volkswagen is introducing an entirely new compact SUV to the already impressive lineup. The all-new 2022 VW Taos is an athletic and sporty SUV that comes with a wide range of desirable features. At first glance, the Taos looks small, but the interior is surprisingly spacious and offers enough room to comfortably accommodate all of your passengers and their cargo. And the compact size of the body helps the new vehicle to be more agile.
This year, the Taos is offered in three different trim levels: the Trendline, the Comfortline, and the Highline. Each trim offers its own set of unique features. To help you decide which Taos model would be the best choice for you, here is a look at exactly what each model has to offer.
What Do All 2022 Volkswagen Taos Have in Common?
While all of the models offer their own set of unique features, there are also several features that are standard on all VW Taos models. Here is a look at some of the exciting features that you can find on all Taos trim levels.
Interior Features
All of the Taos come equipped with a spacious and comfortable cabin. There are two rows of seating that can comfortably seat up to five people. The front row comes standard with heated seats to keep you warm during the frigid winter months. In the back seat, there are around 38 inches of legroom, which is enough to accommodate tall adults. There is also a large rear cargo area that provides up to 28 cubic feet of space behind the second-row seats. If you need a little more interior cargo space, the rear seats can fold down to provide up to 66 cubic feet of cargo space.
Technology
A fully customizable digital instrument cluster can be found on every Taos model. The digital instrument cluster is displayed on a large color LCD screen and allows you to check your speed, fuel capacity, and other important information with just a quick glance.

Engine and Handling
This year, Volkswagen is not only introducing a new vehicle to its lineup, but it is also introducing a new and powerful engine. Every Taos comes standard with a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that is able to deliver 158 horsepower and 84 lb-ft of torque. Some models come standard with 8-speed automatic transmission, while other Taos models offer a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
All models, except for the base, offer the innovative 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. This system distributes the appropriate amount of power to all four wheels to give you the best traction, no matter what the road conditions are like.

2022 Taos Trendline
The Trendline is the base model, but that doesn't mean that it is lacking when it comes to advanced features. The Trendline comes standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, but the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and 4MOTION AWD system are available.
The cabin features large and comfortable seats that are wrapped in soft cloth fabric. There is also a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display that comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth capabilities.
The exterior features stylish 17-inch wheels, LED headlights and daytime running lamps, and heated side mirrors. You can also find several standard safety features on this model, including 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes and an advanced airbag system.
2022 Taos Comfortline
The Comfortline has most of the same features that Trendline offers, but it also adds a few new technologies and safety features.
In the cabin, the seats are adorned in a soft and stylish material that is made of cloth and leatherette. The steering wheel is also wrapped in a faux leather material. The front seats are also heated and there is a standard dual-zone automatic climate control system to ensure that everyone in the vehicle is able to stay comfortable all year long.
The Comfortline adds a larger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display to the interior, but like the 6-inch display, it also comes with Bluetooth as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also a standard 6-speaker audio system that comes with the Comfortline trim.
The Comfortline also adds some new driver-assist features to the vehicle, including a blind spot monitor, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and pedestrian detection.

2022 Taos Highline
The Highline has the most luxurious and well-equipped interior in the lineup. The cabin features heated sport bucket seats in the front row. Both the front and the rear seats are wrapped in stunning and elegant genuine leather.
Like the Comfortline, the Highline also comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, this display also adds a hands-free navigation system and SiriusXM satellite radio. There is also a standard Beats Audio system that comes with nine powerful speakers that are placed throughout the cabin.
The Highline also offers several new safety and driver-assist features to the vehicle, which include rear park assist, lane-keeping system, and light assist.
